The residents absolutely loved the Hawaiian day we held back in March. This special day had to be postponed last year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Lifestyle staff were thrilled to be able to do something special for the residents now that restrictions are easing a little. Flowers adorned the walls and windows of the facility.
The dining room areas looked spectacular with all the colourful decorations representing the Hawaiian theme.
Every resident received a beautiful flower lei as they entered the dining room. The staff dressed up in everything Hawaiian; after over 12 months of blue scrubs being worn or at times PPE the colours were a welcome change for staff and residents!!
Later we played a game of “Ball Toss” – a 6ft blow up Palm Tree took center stage of the lounge area. All the residents had great fun trying their luck at tossing balls into the pool that surrounded the blow up tree!
What a ‘not so normal’ way of celebrating a return to post-COVID normal! ALOHA!!!
